Kevin Craig
Meteorologist


Kevin joined FOX 17 in March of 2001 as Weekend Meteorologist for FOX 17 News At Ten. Prior to coming to FOX 17, Kevin was employed by Weather Central, a private forecasting firm in Madison, Wisconsin. He served as the morning meteorlogist for WKOW-TV from February 1998 to March 2001. Kevin also served as the morning meteorologist /science reporter for WIFR-TV in Rockford, Illinois from September 1996- November 1997. His start in television broadcasting began in Clarksburg, West Virginia in early 1996 as a news reporter/ anchor. "In a pinch, they needed someone to step in and anchor the weather," Kevin says, "and the rest is history." Prior to TV, Kevin held various radio jobs as a news director/anchor for WFOB-AM/WBVI-FM in Findlay, Ohio as well as a weekend disc jockey at WTTF-FM in Tiffin, Ohio. He was a news stringer for the Associated Press and Toledo Blade Newspaper. Kevin's start in broadcasting came in 1993 in Detroit at WCAR-AM Radio where he was a part time news anchor and board operator.

Kevin earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Broadcasting, Television, and Film from Wayne State University in Detroit. He received his Broadcast Meteorology certificate from Mississippi State University. Kevin graduated with honors from both programs. He is also a member of the presigious American Meteorological Society and has earned their Certified Broadcast Meteorology Seal of Approval.

In 2007 Kevin started the "FOX 17 School of Weather" presentations. Kevin enjoys going to area schools and helping educate students about science and weather.

Kevin and his wife, Rochelle, have two daughters and enjoy spending time at the beach and with their family in Detroit. He is an avid guitar and piano player who enjoys the Beatles immensely. "If I wasn't in TV, I'd be playing John Lennon in a Beatle Band somewhere," says Kevin.
