FOX Gives 'Back to You' a Full Season
Kelsey Grammer/Patricia Heaton comedy will get 24 episodes to make its case

October 25, 2007

The ratings may not be impressive, but FOX has given the Kelsey Grammer/Patricia Heaton comedy "Back to You" a full season order.

FOX has never had any problems showing support for the comedy, which has only averaged 7.4 million viewers and a 2.6 demo rating through its first five airings (a number skewed by a strong early premiere).

The network ordered 13 episodes of the comedy, created by industry vets Steve Levitan and Christopher Lloyd, without seeing a finished pilot. Even in picking up the comedy FOX has resisted convention, giving "Back to You" an unusual back-11 order, meaning the show's first season would have 24 episodes, rather than normal 22.

"Back to You" is the first of FOX's new scripted shows to get picked up for a full season. The network has previously pulled the plug on "Nashville" and ordered a fresh season of "Kitchen Nightmares" for next year. The network has asked for additional scripts of "K-Ville," though the New Orleans-set police drama has already been pulled for the first Monday of November sweeps.
