Family reunion
The Burrows family is again reunited: Lincoln, Michael and Aldo, their father in the desert, along with Sucre.
It turns out Michael did meet his dad years ago, only he didn't know it at the time... In hazy memories he can remember himself being punished in a foster home after his mother died. The foster dad left him in the dark most days - so long that Michael began to be able to see in the dark. He even honed his skills to use everyday items for other purposes. Lincoln assumes it was their dad who Michael is describing — but it wasn't him, it was the foster dad who did it. In fact, Mr. Burrows saved Michael. He told a young Michael that everything was going to be ok, and not to look back, but then he left him again.
Michael's still holding a grudge with his dad because, even though he eventually saved him, he lived in that terrible foster home for 6 months. Mr. Burrows said he had to leave Michael behind because The Company was after him.
With history in order, their dad believes if they find a tape proving that Terence Steadman was alive, everything will be OK and somehow Sara Tancredi may have a clue they need to find it. Michael has plans to find Sara, but Sucre feels pressure to get to Panama before it's too late. He seems to be right on because Mahone appears from over a rocky hill and starts shooting. Mr. Burrows covers them while the three of them get a car. They manage to escape, but Mr. Burrows has been shot in the stomach.
Mr. Burrows is badly hurt and he knows it. He says he's sorry to his sons and tells them he wished he never left. While Sucre drives furiously to find a hospital, Mr. Burrows says they have to find Sara Tancredi - she can help them. He doesn't make it, so they bury him in a field. Michael says his dad saved his life, he just wishes he could have let them be a part of his.
Michael starts thinking about all that happened and he tells Lincoln that too many people have died because he wanted Lincoln to be free. Lincoln says there's no way he could have known what would have happened and that it's likely more people are going to die. It's tough to leave their father's grave, but Sucre says they have to go.
Unforseen Complications
Kellerman has Sara tied so that she can't get up from the tub, while being trapped underwater. He leaves the bathroom for a moment to start packing up, when he hears a knock at the door - it's the front desk man. Somebody complained about his super loud TV level. While Kellerman chats with the man, Sara manages to pull up the plug in the bathtub and free herself.
She pops out the window and gathers her courage and jumps onto a car -smashing the windshield. She's badly hurt from the fall and has to stitch her own wound in a bathroom, knowing she can't go to a hospital. Meanwhile, Kellerman lies to Mr. Kim and says that she's dead already. Mr. Kim tells Kellerman to send a photo of the body sent to him from the phone. As time goes on, Mr. Kim knows that Sara escaped from Kellerman. He calls Kellerman about Sara and Kellerman starts making excuses about unforseen events that prevented him from killing Sara. That's not what Mr. Kim wanted to hear. Later, Kellerman tries to make a call directly to President Reynolds, but he's told by a secretary who he knew personally, "the adminstration isn't familiar with an Agent Kellerman." Mr. Kim gives the order to, "make him a ghost" which will erase Kellerman from all databases and video.
On the trail
Mahone makes his way to the "Bolshoi Booze" spot and finds evidence that people were there recently, including a canister much like what he uncovered in the botanical garden. He follows bloody footsteps.
Mahone puts in a trace for a license plate and hears that they've stopped at a hospital, St. De Lorenzo Hospital. It's, Coyote, the man that Michael saved. He wants to talk to Mahone, but he wants to cut a deal first - in writing. Coyote wants all of the charges against him dropped and citizenship. Mahone has another idea, he turns off Coyote's morphine drip and threatens to turn off his pacemaker.
Next we see Mahone making calls for an international pursuit to take a plane down if need be. Unlike the plane they missed, months ago when first escaping, this one they make in time. Sucre runs to it, but Lincoln and Michael tell him they are staying. Michael says they'll meet up someday in Panama. "Fly safe Poppi."
Michael has a new plan, "today's the day they stop running." What does he mean? They are going to drive to a border town, pick up a cell phone signal and call Sara. Mahone watches the from his car, believing all three men are flying in it and wonders where the jets are. Not too far away, Lincoln and Michael hear the jets, and they know they are coming to take the plane down. Hearing that, they to in a new direction.
At night fall, Michael gets close enough to a radio tower to pick up a signal on his phone. He calls Sara, but then he and Lincoln are hit by a car - it's Mahone! Sara finally answers the phone, but as an injured Michael crawls to it, Mahone emerges from a car pointing a gun at him and Lincoln.
The Others
C-Note and his family are camping together. He's happy again. He thinks it's all working out, but his wife is skeptical. Her instincts prove to be true, their daughter is sick and needs medicine everyday, but C-Note forgot to take her backpack when he took her from school. Luckily, the mom has an extra prescription, so they just need to find a pharmacy to get the pills. Not wanting to show identification, C-Note's wife tells the pharmacist she doesn't have any insurance. Without insurance, the pharmacist says it's $125 for the pills. Not a problem, she gives the pharmacist two crisp Westmoreland $100 bills.
During the transaction, the pharmacist makes a connection between her photo and a wanted poster. She stalls for time pretending to get change until the cops come. They ask her where C-note is but she lies and says she doesn't know. The police take her into custody while C-Note looks on from the across the street.
Bellick's in Tribune, Kansas at the police station. Detective Slattery wants to know why he was in town, so she can figure out who "carved up Mr. Geary." He tells her that they are looking for Theodore Bagwell. He says he'll do whatever he can to find T-Bag. The Detective knows that Bellick's hiding something and tells him that the guys on the force, think that Bellick isn't being totally up front. Bellick finally admits that he and Gary did have a "dust up" over Bagwell. He even starts crying when he talks about his now-deceased friend Roy.
The detective in a friendly way tells Bellick his facts don't add up, especially when Bellick's credit card was traced to the hotel where Roy was. Bellick then tells her the whole story about roughing up T-Bag and hitting Roy to get the money. Bellick starts getting antsy in jail and wants to leave - but he can't - in Roy's dead hand he pointed to Bellick's name on the credit card receipt. Then, they hear a threatening phone message from Bellick to Roy. With all the circumstantial evidence stacked against him, he's put under arrest for Roy.
