'House' Doctors No Longer Engaged
Jennifer Morrison and Jesse Spencer won't wed after all

August 16, 2007

Jennifer Morrison and Jesse Spencer will just have to let their romance progress on screen.

The "House" co-stars have called off their engagement, reports People.

"After much consideration, we have decided not to get married," the couple said in a joint statement. "We are still very close, and we look forward to continuing to work together on 'House.'"

The couple, both 28, became engaged last December while they were on holiday in Paris and had planned to get married later this year.

They had met in March 2004 at the Vancouver International Airport when they were both on their way to film the first episode of the hit FOX medical drama and began dating a few months later.

On the show, Spencer and Morrison play Dr. Robert Chase and Dr. Allison Cameron respectively. They've had a rocky time together so far, engaging in a "friends with benefits" relationship, which Dr. Chase wants to take to the next level. By the end of Season Three, it looks like Dr. Cameron is finally receptive to this arrangement, even though Dr. Chase has been fired by House himself (Hugh Laurie).

The show's fourth season will premiere on Tuesday, Sept. 25.
