Sutherland Enters Hall of 'Mirrors'
Project comes from the director of 'The Hills Have Eyes' remake

February 6, 2007

Kiefer Sutherland will take a break from the wear and tear of "24" to shoot the supernatural thriller "Mirrors" this summer.

Alexandre Aja ("The Hills Have Eyes") is directing the 20th Century Fox production, which focuses on a mall cop who discovers that something is wrong with the mirrors of a department store. The Variety report doesn't say what, exactly, is wrong, but our hunch is that the mirrors make shoppers think they're fat.

Aja wrote the most recent draft of the script.

Production on the sixth season of "24" will end in April and Sutherland will begin shooting "Mirrors" on May 1 in Romania.

The original plan for the summer hiatus had been to shoot the long-discussed "24" movie. However, producers determined that they had yet to find the exact script to bring Jack Bauer's heroic adventures to the big screen and the "24" film was pushed back to next summer.

Sutherland's latest feature appearance was in the thriller "The Sentinel."
