Asthma Is Common in Children
Asthma is one of the most common chronic diseases for children.
Signs of Asthma
Signs of asthma may include a recurring cough, chest tightness, shortness of breath or wheezing. A common cold that lasts for weeks, or coughing or wheezing during exercise could also be signs of asthma.
What Triggers Asthma
Asthma is often triggered by things children encounter every day such as running, allergies and breathing cold air. Cigarette smoke, air pollution and strong odors can also trigger asthma.
Diagnosing Asthma
Asthma often goes undetected. Talk to your doctor about your child's symptoms to be sure it's accurately diagnosed and treated.
